GIN-SAM5 | High-Speed Standalone Masters

Indel Compact Peripherals (COP) offer flexibility and performance bundled in a compact case. A COP node combines up to six individually selectable COP modules. COP modules range from standard I/O modules to customer-specific special modules. Thanks to the possibility to develop customer-specific modules within a short period of time, Indel Compact Peripherals offer the highest possible degree of adaptability at little cost.

Performance
Minimal latencies of only 40 ns can be implemented thanks to the internal 16 Bit, 25 MHz bus with burst mode.

Application
COP nodes can run as slaves on the Indel Gin-Link high-speed fieldbus or autonomously. Slave mode is achieved by using a bus coupler module, autonomous mode by using a CPU board module. A COP node in autonomous mode can also be configured as a GinLink master to control other GinLink slaves.

The COP Scan-Head Control Interface Modules have specially been developed for the integration and control of laser scan heads from various producers. The communication is carried out via the protocol given by the producer. Up to three scanner channels per module can be controlled and read back. The scanners are controlled synchronously with other actuators, such as multi servo drives and I/O systems. Thanks to the flexible scalability of the COP periphery, the COP Scan-Head Control Interface modules can also be combined with additional modules. As a result, individual customer needs can be covered while staying highly economically viable.

GIN-PCIe5 is a high-performance CPU board for use as a fieldbus master in the form of a PCIe plug-in card. Thanks to sophisticated CPU cooling, only a single PCIe 3.0 slot is required. The GinLink master is ideally suited for high-speed applications with high technical requirements.

As a fieldbus controller for the Indel Gigabit Ethernet fieldbus GinLink, GIN-PCIe5 can operate over 100 coordinated servo axes with a closed-loop bus frequency of up to 8 kHz thanks to its high transmission rate.

As with all other Indel CPU boards, OPC UA communication is implemented directly in the machine software. As OPC UA is flexible and completely platform-independent, it is considered the ideal communication protocol for implementing Industry 4.0.

The Indel GIN-SAC4 series is the flexible solution for safe motor control. Models are available from one to four axes. Integrated safety modules allow safe evaluation of resolvers and SinCos feedbacks. It is possible to define up to 8 safety levels with according safety functions. Those levels are selected at run time by the four safe inputs available. If needed the motor current can be doubled by using two amplifiers in parallel. The integrated power supply allows for a direct connection to the 1 or 3 phase power grid.
