All regulations regarding safety, materials, fire protection and more can be found in the stand construction guidelines.
Is booth construction approval required?
Assuming that the Technical Guidelines are complied with in the design and construction of the stand, it is not necessary to submit planning documents for single-story stand structures in the halls, provided they have a floor area of no more than 400 sqm.
Special constructions are subject to approval and costs. Special constructions include:
- Two-storey stand construction (see item 7 of the stand construction guidelines)
- Constructions in the outdoor area
- Special constructions (show trucks, promotion vehicles, etc.)
- Cinema and auditorium areas < 100 sqm
- Scene areas
- Platforms and walk-on structures higher than 0.20 m
- LED walls/video walls incl. substructure or mounting materials
- Glass constructions
- Moving components
Review and approval of structures requiring permits:
Dimensioned stand plans on a suitable scale (at least 1:100) with ground plans and elevations must be submitted in electronic form (.pdf) to the Event Engineering Department of Nürnberg Messe for approval no later than six weeks before the start of construction: veranstaltungstechnik@nuernbergmesse.de.
The stand construction is not approved until the Event Engineering Department has issued a note of approval.
For further information, please see item 4.2.1 and 4.10 of the stand construction guidelines.
What construction heights are permitted in the individual halls?
The maximum permitted construction height for single-story stand construction is 6 m. Due to structural restrictions, this height cannot be realized in all halls. The maximum construction heights of the individual halls are listed in the following table.
| Hall | Maximum overall height (top edge of rigging) |
|---|---|
| 1 | 6 m (left side) |
| 1 | 5.8 m (right side) |
