High-performance connectivity for demanding industrial applications
Mouser Electronics, the authorised global distributor with the newest electronic components and industrial automation products, is now stocking the ix Industrial® PushTrigger IP20 connectors from Harting. The ix Industrial PushTrigger IP20 connectors are an alternative to the existing Harting PushPull range, offering Type A, B, and C coding options. The compact PushTrigger connectors offer high-performance connectivity for demanding industrial Ethernet applications, including automation, robotics, control systems, smart infrastructure, and transportation.
The Harting ix Industrial PushTrigger IP20 connectors, now available at Mouser, feature a vibration-resistant push-pull locking mechanism and IDC termination, enabling fast, solder-free assembly. The PushTrigger IP20 connectors are compatible with all ix Industrial female connectors; and installation procedures remain the same when migrating from standard ix products. Up to 75% smaller than traditional RJ45 connectors, the PushTrigger IP20 series frees up space for additional connectors and assemblies while supporting Cat—6A Class EA transmission up to 500 MHz and data rates up to 10 Gbit/s.
The ix Industrial PushTrigger IP20 Connectors are fully shielded against electromagnetic interference and shock, and are vibration-proof according to IEC 61373 Category 1, Class B. They offer IP20 protection, long mating cycles, and an operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.
A Perfect Pair? Industry networks merge into a single Single Pair Ethernet Association
Meanwhile, hot off the press is a joint announcement from Chicago that the Single Pair Ethernet System Alliance and SPE Industrial Partner Network (of which Harting was a founding member) have merged to create a new unified entity. The Single Pair Ethernet Association (SPE Association) will represent members from more than 130 leading manufacturing and technology companies worldwide.
Data is changing our lives: the way we interact, treat diseases, produce, travel, protect society and much more. Smart cities with smart buildings and smart mobility are one example. Another is smart factories, where production plants and systems are networked together, optimally controlled by artificial intelligence and Big Data applications.
The key to this is fast access to data and seamless communication, both within the networks and from the sensor to the cloud. This is precisely where Single Pair Ethernet (SPE) comes into its own.
SPE is based on the gateway-less IP protocol and communication architecture that are already standard today – IEEE 802.3 Ethernet. As a physical layer, it can be easily integrated into any Ethernet application and make it fit for tomorrow. Because with its seamless communication, SPE is the enabler for the (Industrial) Internet of Things and Industry 4.0, offering several advantages over current Ethernet approaches.
