CLPA offers a global network of conformance test labs to ensure that key global markets can get local access to the necessary testing. The testing itself is standardised worldwide, so that the location of the test does not matter from the perspective of results.
What is tested?
This is laid out in the comprehensive test specifications. These are available to any company that joins the CLPA as free of charge registered member.
In summary, they cover the following general areas:
- Hardware tests
- Software tests
- Profile description confirmation (CSP+ file)
- Aging test (operation over an extended period)
These also include power supply noise tests and communication line noise tests, which help to provide the foundation of CC-Link's reputation for reliability in difficult environments.
Options exist for the manufacturer to do preliminary testing before the final test, or alternatively, for companies that may lack some of the required equipment, we can also do pre-testing as necessary.

DIY testing
In the case of CC-Link IE Field Basic, since this is software based, we make available a self-test tool. This allows the partner to make their own tests and produces a report that is verified by us so we can issue a test certificate.
Certificates
Of course, once a test is successfully completed, it is important to be able to prove it. CLPA issues certificates that show compliance to anyone who needs to see it. Recent successful certifications have been issued to Turck, Weidmüller, KUKA and Pneumax.
