Top hat rail PLC with touch display and local remote access
A small PLC controller with a touch display is to be one of the highlights from DISPLAY VISIONS at the upcoming embedded world 2025 trade fair. This small PLC can be wirelessly connected to up to 50 satellites.
With its new PLC series, DISPLAY VISIONS has made admin and control tasks in the control cabinet much easier. The compact PLC controller is pre-equipped with a colour touch display that not only shows measurement and process data, but also enables the quick entry of operating parameters and control commands. Up to 50 additional satellite displays can also be connected using WiFi, LAN or RS-485. All the process parameters are automatically shared with the satellites, where they can be selectively displayed and changed if necessary. In this way, work preparation, monitoring, management and service teams get information and intervention options adapted to their individual requirements. The satellite displays are available in various sizes (1.5 to 10.1 inches). The display on the PLC itself is 2.8 inches, and with its brilliant IPS technology, is easy to read, also in bright surroundings and from almost every direction. The programming takes place via USB with the free “PLC Designer” Windows tool. This makes it easy to implement even highly sophisticated and visually appealing screen layouts. 8 digital and 4 analogue inputs, 4 relay contacts and an RS-232 are available for the data acquisition and command output. The supply voltage is 12 to 24 V. The PLC unit is just 5 HP wide and positioned on a top hat rail. DISPLAY VISIONS offers various mounting options for the satellites, from device installation, to installation in doors, through to wall mounting.

Low-power display for mobile use in sunlight
DISPLAY VISIONS is presenting an exceptionally economical yet high-contrast colour display for professional mobile use at the sps 2025 trade fair.
At the upcoming embedded world 2025, DISPLAY VISIONS is showcasing its sunlight-readable, low-power TFT024-23ATNN colour display for mobile use. In addition to its switchable backlight, this transflective TFT panel also makes use of outdoor light for display purposes. This means the TFT024-23ATNN can also deliver a sharp and high-contrast display in direct sunlight. In poor lighting conditions, the backlight, with approximately 270 cd/m², helps to improve the readability.
Supplied with 3.3 V, the power consumption of the compact colour display without a backlight is an economical 10 mA. Based on an eight-hour working day, this is equivalent to an energy requirement of just under 80 mAh. This makes the TFT024-23ATNN ideal for installation in mobile devices.
The resolution of the colour display, which is 43 mm wide, 60 mm high and only 3 mm thick, is 240x320 RGB pixels. Its background is white and the content can be displayed in either colour or black. As an alternative to the standard RGB interface, the TFT024-23ATNN can also be controlled on a PIN-sparing basis via a 4-wire SPI interface or a parallel µC data bus with 8 or 16 bits. A service life of 50,000 operating hours and reliable operation between
-20° and +70°C underscore the great performance of the TFT024-23ATNN for professional use. DISPLAY VISIONS also guarantees long-term availability and full support.

Modbus HMI - Brilliant and inexpensive
DISPLAY VISIONS has developed a particularly compact Modbus display module. The module is equipped with a 4.3 inch, bright and perfectly readable display. This makes it ideal for use on programmable logic controllers (PLCs), offered by many manufacturers like Siemens, Beckhoff, Panasonic, etc.
The new display module from DISPLAY VISIONS supports the communication formats Modbus/TCP and Modbus/RTU. Accordingly, it is equipped with interfaces for WiFi, LAN and RS-485. The brilliant IPS display is characterised by a high brightness of around 1,000 cd/m2 and all-round readability. In terms of power supply, the new Modbus panel meter offers optimum flexibility – the unit can be operated with any DC power supply in the voltage range from 5 V to 30 V DC. In a market dominated by products with much larger screens (15 inches and more), DISPLAY VISIONS opens up new possibilities with its Modbus indicator in a wall-mounted housing with a diagonal screen size of 4.3 inches and allows the design of very compact and, above all, cost-effective HMI units. In order to meet the demand for further small displays, the manufacturer has announced that 7-inch versions, for example, will also be included in its range.

The bespoke display
... is the dream of every developer. With almost 50 years of experience, DISPLAY VISIONS can make it happen. We can produce in custom dimensions, your own pin assignment or even a touch panel in a custom size and much, much more.
Anything is possible – almost. Although not all specifications can be implemented easily, there is a solution for the vast majority of requirements. With almost 50 years of experience, DISPLAY VISIONS is the perfect partner for this. In this context, a close network with several highly specialised suppliers in Europe and the Far East is also essential.
A typical wish is, for example, the adjustment of the display brightness or the connection (pins or flex cable) and, in the case of monochrome displays, the colour scheme including illumination (also RGB). DISPLAY VISIONS’ “bread and butter”, so to speak, is a custom touch panel with front screen and special imprint in PCAP or resistive technology.
Does the application require a completely new design regarding dimensions, resolution or interface? This requires a somewhat more detailed specification, which can also be based on a standard display to minimise the expense. In this case, DV’s wide range of stock displays will help you get started on your way to your custom version.
For extreme requirements, such as an operating temperature range of up to 100 °C, it helps to maintain intensive communication, as does the drafting of various proposals as well as a deeper insight into the complete application. There may also be the possibilities of cooling or a different placement of the display, or ultimately even the use of special materials, perhaps with a shorter life expectancy as the trade-off.

Small control systems with touch display
The slim PLC control of the DISPLAY VISIONS PLC series already has the touch display integrated. In addition, it can be wirelessly connected to up to 50 satellite displays. This allows processes to be monitored and controlled wherever they are.
Normally, the programming of small control systems and the reading out of their parameters is associated with some effort. Not so with DISPLAY VISIONS’ PLC series. The central control unit, also named as the "core", has a coloured touch display already integrated in it. The brilliant 2.8-inch IPS panel is easy to read from almost any viewing angle (reading angle 170°) and even in direct sunlight. It’s not only able to display the measurement and process data, but also serves to input control commands and operating parameters thanks to its touch-sensitive surface. The core has eight digital inputs, 4 analogue inputs (4-20 mA and 0-10 V) and 4 relay outputs[A1] . It communicates via the RS‑485 or Ethernet interface and can also be accessed wirelessly via WiFi. Up to 50 satellite terminals can be automatically connected to the central control unit. Depending on the complexity of the input and output data, satellites with different display sizes are available, from the 1.5" display with 240x240 pixels, which is just smaller than a postage stamp, to the 10.1" panel with a resolution of 1,280x800 pixels. The satellites automatically synchronise with the core in real time and are individually configurable. For example, one point could be displaying operating data for the service, while one of the satellites at another point is used for work preparation and entering new parameters.
All touch and display functions can be programmed freely with the free Windows tool "PLC Designer" WYSIWYG. Numerous prefabricated elements support the construction of individual and even animated pages. The central control unit EA PLCC28 is designed for top hat rail mounting and is only 5 HP wide. There are various housings available for the satellite terminals for installation in other devices and for surface mounting.
