Description
The HNT 200 radar level sensors with IO-Link interface enable non-contact detection of distances to several fluids. The sensor can be used for level detection of water, water-based media (e.g. water-glycol mixtures) or emulsions (e.g. cooling lubricants), but also for oil or other liquids. It is also possible to determine the filling level of several bulk goods, such as chips and granulates, for example.
Due to the reduced blind zone, it is possible to realise accurate filling level measurements for distances starting from approx. 5 cm. Furthermore, thanks to the very small aperture angle, it is even possible to integrate the sensor in applications with complex tank geometries.
The compact and robust design allows simple installation, even in tight installation spaces. Thanks to the configurations, predefined for several applications, the sensor can be integrated quickly.
In standard IO mode, the sensor has two freely programmable switching outputs and is therefore directly applicable as a level switch for overfill recognition and/or as empty status detection.
Application fields
Thanks to the radar-based measurement principle, the sensor can also be used without any problem in demanding applications in the industry sector and in process monitoring, where considerable temperature and pressure differences are very likely to occur or in which vapour or dust must be anticipated.
