Identification & Access Management

Description

Identification and Access Management – I.A.M.

We are familiar with the challenges you face in day-to-day production:
- Access to production plants is unprotected.
- Anonymous passwords are known.
- Data is accessible to all employees.
- Responsibilities are not clearly regulated.
- There are high liability risks in the event of work accidents.
- Manipulations lead to production stoppage.
- New standards and directives in the field of security must be implemented.

With “Identification and Access Management”, I.A.M. for short, we are offering a wide-ranging package of products and software, as well as tailor-made solutions for the daily challenges of access management. The options range from simple authentication to complex access permissions and access management through to safe operating mode selection, maintenance safeguarding and protection of data and networks. With our maintenance safeguarding system Key-in-pocket, you can protect your personnel from the unplanned restart of machines or systems as long as people are in the danger zone. In comparison with conventional lockout tagout (LOTO) systems, the maintenance safeguarding with the Key-in-pocket solution is implemented via RFID keys with corresponding permissions and a safe list in the Pilz controllers. As a result, it provides purely electronic restart protection and makes mechanical interlocking devices and warning tags redundant.

Your benefits at a glance:
- Authentication of persons, safe restart protection
- Full control of who has access to which machine; temporary permission is also possible
- Simple blocking and fast reprogramming in the event that a transponder key is lost
- Certifications: PL d Cat. 3 of EN ISO 13849-1, SIL CL 2 of EN 62061 and SIL 2 of IEC 61508
- Considerably less expensive and more flexible than systems made of metal

Industrial Security – Safety needs protection through Security

Machinery safety is changing: Industrial Security is making its way into OT (Operational Technology). The EU Machinery Regulation (MR) and the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) make it clear: Without Security, there is no Safety! Every security function in a machine can be compromised and thus pose a risk. This is why Industrial Security is indispensable today for the protection of Safety and the safe operation of machines and systems.

Pilz – your partner for Industrial Security

Pilz has many years of experience in functional safety and is actively involved in standards committees that deal with risk analyses and safety requirements – also in the field of Industrial Security. Therefore, we know the points of attack where people with malicious intentions could deliberately try to compromise investments.

The Industrial Security Portfolio – Step by Step to a Secure Machine

Our Industrial Security portfolio consists of various solution elements. With these, we accompany our customers step by step on the way to a safe machine.

The first step in implementing Industrial Security in your own company is the targeted development of knowledge on the topic and the legal and normative requirements. The "Fundamentals of Industrial Security" training course is ideally suited for this and offers a quick start thanks to a compact knowledge structure on terminologies, requirements and understanding of cybersecurity in the context of machine and network security. Best practices promote an understanding of cybersecurity risks in your own production. The advanced course "CESA – Certified Expert for Security in Automation" is an expert training course with a focus on IEC 62443, where participants learn how to correctly apply and prove the standard so that their automation systems comply with modern cybersecurity standards. After successfully passing the exam, you will receive the personal qualification as a "CESA – Certified Expert for Security in Automation" certified by TÜV NORD.

Tailor-made services for Industrial Security like risk analyses help to uncover and evaluate security-endangering risks, set protection goals and define risk-reducing security measures.

Suitable product solutions such as Identification and Access Management help to put these analyses into practice.
