BLH & BLS Series – Compact 24 V Brushless DC Motors

Oriental Motor (Europa) GmbH

Description

Both series offer efficient 24 V brushless DC motors with feedback via integrated Hall sensors. They cover a wide power range and enable stable speed control even under load changes. The main differences lie in the functional depth of the respective drivers. The motors are available with various gearbox types, including helical and hollow-shaft flat gearboxes.

BLH Series
The motors cover 15–100 W and offer a speed range of 100–3000 rpm (or 80–3000 rpm for digital and RS-485 drivers).
Three driver types are available: analog, digital, and RS-485 communication, each as a compact PCB driver.
Supported functions (depending on model):
- Torque limiting
- Load factor display
- Setting acceleration/deceleration ramps
- Multiple programmable speed levels
- Free MEXE02 parameterization software.

BLS Series
The BLS series offers 25–120 W of power at 100–2000 rpm or 100–4000 rpm, depending on the motor type.
The drivers are available in two versions:
- Simple type with particularly easy commissioning via an on/off signal
- as an RS-485 variant with extended parameterization via MEXE02 software

KXR Series – Highly dynamic AC servo system with maintenance-free absolute encoder

Planned Launch in 2027

The KXR Series is a modern AC servo system designed for highly dynamic positioning and motion control applications. The series combines high-performance servo technology with an integrated battery-free absolute encoder and EtherCAT communication. Thanks to high rotational speeds, fast control response, and precise encoder technology, the KXR Series is particularly well suited for robotics, packaging machinery, conveyor systems, and demanding multi-axis applications.

Key Features

• 26-bit absolute encoder with high-resolution positioning integrated as standard

• Maintenance-free absolute encoder with solid-state battery – no external battery replacement required

• High dynamic performance with speeds up to 7,000 rpm and control bandwidth ≥ 3.5 kHz

• Power ratings available from 400 W and 750 W up to 1 kW

• EtherCAT communication integrated as standard

• Safety functions: STO (Safe Torque Off) and SS1

• Supports Safety over EtherCAT (FSoE)

• Planetary gear options available with low backlash

• Compatible with DGII hollow rotary actuators for compact rotary axis solutions

• 300° rotatable metal connector for flexible cable routing; IP67 protection class

AZ Series - Servo-controlled stepper motor with battery-less absolute encoder

AZ Series - Servo-controlled stepper motor with battery-less absolute encoder

AZ Series - Servo-controlled stepper motor with battery-less absolute encoder

The AZ Series combines hybrid stepper motor technology with a built-in, battery-free mechanical multi-turn absolute encoder (ABZO sensor). This enables absolute positioning of ±900 revolutions without the need for external sensors. Motors run open-loop under normal operation for smooth, vibration-free motion and switch automatically to closed-loop control under load changes to ensure reliable positioning without loss of synchronism.

Key Features

• Battery-free mechanical multi-turn absolute encoder (ABZO) integrated as standard

• Absolute positioning range: ±900 (standard) or ±1,800 (extended) revolutions

• Open-loop operation for quiet running; closed-loop engagement for overload conditions

• Frame sizes: 20 mm, 28 mm, 42 mm, 60 mm, and 85 mm

• Gearhead options: spur gearheads, right-angle-gearheads, planetary gearheads & Harmonic Drive®

• Wide variety of actuators available: linear actuators, rotary actuators, grippers, and more

• Control flexibility: pulse-direction input, digital I/O, or fieldbus communication (EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, Modbus RTU)

• Integrated monitoring and diagnostic functions for reliable system operation

• Optional electromagnetic brake for holding loads in vertical applications

Common Features

Reliable positioning, compact design, and flexible integration into a wide range of automation solutions
