The LCB is our load cell universal digitizer that transforms any analog load cell into a digital lod cell.

We have improved the performance of the classic LCB model, made of AISI 304 stainless steel, and diversified our offering with two new versions.

THE NEW VERSIONS

▷ Plastic version: with a new PA66 nylon container reinforced with fiber glass. It is definitely the most advantageous model in financial terms.

▷ Hygienic version: with a new AISI 304 stainless steel container certified 3-A Sanitary Standards. This model is perfectly sanitizable, and it is ideal for applications in sectors where hygiene is an important or necessary requirement.

Both of the new models keep the main features of the classic LCB, among which the IP67 protection rating and the availability on the instrument of two program versions:

• BASE program, for setting the setpoint values;
• BATCHING program, for single program loading.

IN WHAT WAY HAS LCB IMPROVED?

Our R&D department has developed tangible improvements:

▷They are faster: the weight calculation frequency reaches up to 500 values a second and also the update frequency of the data on th efieldbus can reach the maximum speed of 500 updates a second, when using the PROFINET, EtherNet/IP and EtherCAT buses.

▷ It is more convenient to configure and manage them: as a matter of fact they are now compatible with Instrument Manager, the free software for managing LAUMAS electronic instrumentation from a PC.

▷ It is easier to communicate with the PLC: the choice among the already many fieldbuses is expanded with the new CC-LINK IE Field Basic, based on Ethernet technology.

▷ They are more versatile: as well as the classic assembly integral with the body of the load cell, wall mounting of the classic LCB and the plastic version is now possible, using the mounting supports with fixing holes. In this way the digitizer can also be used as a normal weight transmitter that, coupled with a junction box, can manage up to 4 load cells connected in parallel.

The LAUMAS calibration laboratory LAT N.02141, accredited by Accredia (the Sole National Organization for accreditation designated by the italian government) is in compliance with the international standard ISO/IEC 17025 "General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories".

The laboratory offers various services for the calibration and quality control of weighing components:

▷ ACCREDITED CALIBRATIONS

The laboratory performs accredited calibrations for forces from 2 kN to 100 kN, carried out in compression and tension, of load cells with capacities from 1000 kg to 10,000 kg with or without a connected weight indicator or transmitter.

Calibration can be requested either when purchaising new products or for components already in use, of any manufacturer.

The accreditation attests the competence, independence and impartiality of the laboratory and ensures the metrological correctness of the methods of measurement used (specifically, our procedures follow standards ISO 376 and ASTM E74).

The Accredia calibration certificate issued by LAUMAS is an official document recognized worldwide because it is covered by the EA Mutual Recognition (valid in Europe), IAF (international) and ILAC (international).

▷ CALIBRATION REPORTS

The laboratory also performs calibration tests valid for quality control for the purposes of the standards UNI EN ISO 9001.

The calibrations are performed on load cells with capacities up to 500,000 kg (5000 kN) in compression and up to 60,000 kg (600 kN) in tension.

They are performed at ambient temperature and, in request, for forces up to 100 kN (10,000 kg), they can also be carried out at temperatures of between -20 °C and +200 °C.

Unlike accredited calibrations, these are performed using metrological procedures inside the laboratory, therefore their result do not have the value of an officially recognized document.

The hygienic line was created with the aim of providing prefectly sanitizable, certified, hygienic weighing systems for all those sectors where hygiene is a necessary or important requirement, such as food and dairy products or the chemical and pharmaceutical industry.

The most important feature of hygienic products is the possibility of being sanitized, ensured by several factors:

→ DESIGN

Perfectly smooth surfaces, always inclined and equipped with drainage corners and joined edges, which make all the prducts easy to inspect and wash.

→ MATERIALS

Selected and certified in every detail: stainless steel, seals made of food-grade silicon, food contact cable.

→ PROTECTION RATING

Between IP67 and IP69K.

ALL THE COMPONENTS OF THE HYGIENIC LINE

▷ FLC 3A: hygienic load cell for foot

The hygienic load cell for foot is made of 17-4 PH stainless steel, it can be sanitized in its entirety and complies with the 3-A Sanitary Standards.

Its strenghts:

• easy to mount;
• has an IP69K protection rating;
• has a wide range of capacity (from 1000 kg to 20,000 kg);
• the lower stem is internelly threaded so that the height of the feet can be adjusted.

The FLC 3A is compatible with the most of the feet on the market and, on request, it can be supplied with its hygienic foot that:

• has a tilt capacity of up to ± 7.5°, to compensate for any non-parallelism of the supporting surface of the structure;
• its stem is partially threaded, to form a single body with the load cell;
• there is also a pluggable version with 2 holes for fixing to the floor with 2 hygienic screws, so as to create an anti-tilt constraint.

▷ CDG 3A: hygienic junction box

The CDG 3A junction box has a completely innovative design, ensuring it is hygienic and practical to use.

Its main features:

• it is perfectly sanitizable and complies with the 3-A Sanitary Standards;
• the cable gland also act as a seal;
• it has an IP68 protection rating;
• the closure is simplified, with no need for tools;
• it handles up to 4 load cells connected in parallel and is also available in the equalized version.

▷ CASTLM8I 3A: the hygienic version of the TLM8 multichannel weight transmitter.

The classic TLM8 weight transmitter is also available in a hygienic version thanks to the CATLM8I 3A box, which makes it sanitizable and completely sealed to dust and water.

The new version:

• is made of AISI 304 stainless steel;
• has an IP69K protection rating;
• is 3A Sanitary Standards.

So even in the most demanding industries, you can enjoy all the features of the TLM8 transmitter, including:

• 8 independent read channels for load cells, which become 4 in the case of a hygienic installation in front of the panel;
• integrated diagnostics and digital equalization;
• backlit LCD graphic display;
• the smart junction box function;
• 13 fieldbuses for communicating with the PLC;

▷ LCB 3A: weight transmitter - digitizer for load cells

LCB 3A transforms an analog load cell (with mV/V output) into a digital load cell and can also be used with existing strain gauge cells or sensors.

Designed for mounting/wiring integrally with the load cell body, it can be connected via fieldbus to PLCs from leading international brands.

With an AISI 304 stainless steel container certified 3-A Sanitary Standards, it is perfectly sanitizable, and it is ideal for application in sectors where hygiene in an important or necessary requirement.

TLC is "mini" in its dimensions and price, but without sacrificing any features.

▷ SMALL AND AFFORDABLE

The TLC, with its dimensions of 45 x 26 x 11 mm in the board only version, is the most compact and cost-effective of our analog weight transmitters.

If space is limited and/or you need to reduce costs (e.g., for mass production or smart weighing), it is the ideal solution for creating applications with multiple independent weighing systems connected to a single PLC via analog output, but which do not require special technical performance.

▷ VERSATILE

The TLC adapts to any type of application and is available on request in 2 additional versions:

• IP67 ABS enclosure version for protection againsta water and dust;
• circular board version, even smaller and more affordable, with a diameter of only 20 mm.

▷ COMPLETE

In its simplicity, the TLC is equipped with all the essential features:

• analog output in current (4-20 mA) or voltage (0-10 VDC);
• connection of up to 4 load cells in parallel;
• compatible with the analog/digital boards of any PLC;
• rated output selection with mini switches, in a range between 1 mV/V and 3 mV/V;
• 12-turn potentiometer for zero and full-scale adjustment.

It is also the only one of our transmitter that features spring terminal blocks for faster and more secure wiring in case of transport after calibration and/or exposure to vibrations.
