Description

New Motion Controller available for four different motor technologies

A motion controller with even more possibilities: With the new MC 3602 B and MC 3606 B motion controllers, the selection and commissioning of drive systems is now even simpler. With the compact MC 3602/06 B, DC-motors, brushless DC-motors and linear motors can be operated with the typical position encoders as servo drive in accordance with CiA 402. Also new is the support of stepper motors with encoder as servo or without encoder in open-loop operation. The products "speak" EtherCAT, CANopen, RS232 and USB.

The new MC 3602 B variant is equipped with up to 2 A continuous output current for smaller motors and the MC 3606 B variant has up to 6 A continuous output current for medium-sized motors which simplifies work for engineers. For applications in which more than one motor technology is used, just one motor controller and a GUI are needed. The free FAULHABER "Motion Manager 7" software is available for installation and commissioning. With this, the drive is running in just a few steps. All main operating modes of the CiA 402 servo drive are offered. Integration is performed via CANopen or RS232, and for commissioning, primarily the USB interface is used. Additionally, an optional EtherCAT module enables cycle times as short as 1 ms. In conclusion, the motion controllers can also be operated without central control in stand-alone mode.

Everything from a single source

In combination with FAULHABER motors, the MC 3602 B and MC 3606 B deliver a sophisticated drive system with extensive protective functions. The products were developed for the operation of motors with ironless winding and offer high dynamics here. Standard motors – such as NEMA stepper motors – can likewise easily be operated with the MC 3602/06 B. They thereby represent a solid basis for a range of applications. Regardless of whether the application uses a stepper motor in open-loop or closed-loop operation, or in combination with brushless, linear or DC-motors, the MC 3602/06 B provides a solution for nearly every requirement – in industrial automation or in laboratory automation, robotics, semiconductor processing or in use with measurement systems.

Designed for even greater flexibility and a wide range of applications: The new 1218 SXR and 1228 SXR DC motors. These models expand FAULHABER’s proven DC motor portfolio and set new standards in performance and versatility for miniature drive systems.

The new SXR motors offer standard higher performance and a broader range of configuration options to meet the demands of modern drive solutions. They provide flexible voltage variants from 3V to 18V as well as different bearing configurations. Additionally, the motors can be customized – from front and rear shaft modifications to options for vacuum and temperature environments. The optimized rotor balancing ensures longevity and smooth operation.

At the core of the new SXR family is the innovative hexagonal coil with a high copper filling factor and straight wiring. This technology delivers significantly enhanced performance and efficiency compared to traditional pin coils. Additionally, a new magnet grade improves magnetic induction amplitude and temperature stability.

All components in the SXR series are RoHS compliant, and the electrical connections offer flexible configuration options. The new SXR models are compatible with a wide range of FAULHABER products, such as the new FAULHABER planetary gearheads 14GPT. New motors, gearheads and encoders with 16 mm diameter

New highlights for complete solutions in drive technology: With the new size of the SXR motors, the powerful motor of the new GXR family, the high-precision encoder and the matching gearhead, FAULHABER presents products that are perfectly matched to one another, come from a single source and are all diameter compliant with Ø 16 mm. This combination enables optimal efficiency, maximum dynamics and absolute precision – ideal for high-tech industries and challenging applications in industrial automation, robotics and medical technology.

New to the product range: DC-motors in the GXR and SXR families

The new brushed motor 1627 GXR with copper-graphite commutation impresses with its high power and a wide range of equipment options that enables it to meet the requirements of modern drive solutions. It offers flexible voltage variants from 4.5 V to 24 V and different bearing configurations. The motor can also be individually adjusted – from modifications on the front and rear shafts to options for use in vacuum or high-temperature environments. Optimized rotor balancing ensures smooth operation and contributes to the motor's durability. The hexagonal winding technology – which has a high copper filling factor and an optimized proportion of straight lines – and the high-quality magnets ensure temperature stability and improve overall performance.

These are also features of the new size in the precious-metal-commutated SXR family – the existing 1218 and 1228 SXR is now joined by new version in the size 1627 SXR. It has an outstanding power to volume ratio and is ideal for high-tech applications. All components in the SXR and GXR families are RoHS compliant and the electrical connections offer a variety of configuration options.

It is easy to combine the GXR motors and SXR motors with the metal planetary gearheads in the GPT family. In particular, the new, diameter-compliant 16GPT is ideal for challenging applications with limited installation space. The optimized construction allows high speeds, enabling use of the motor's entire speed range. In addition, the stable design ensures that extreme forces can be transferred reliably and large loads can be managed without a problem.

Another ally: the new magnetic encoder IEX3

With the latest chip technology, the IEX3 and IEX3 L offer a high resolution and positional accuracy that typically reaches 0.3°.
