The new Machinery Ordinance - What changes for PL and SIL?

The safety of machinery and equipment depends on the correct application of standards and directives. In this context, the standards on "functional safety" also play an important role. The requirements for machine controls are specified in both EN ISO 13849 and IEC 62061. Both standards are currently in "maintenance mode". While IEC 62061 has already been ratified, EN ISO 13849 is expected to be published in 2022. In addition, a new draft machinery regulation has been circulated and published.
