Machines and systems rethought: As a platform, NOA offers the possibility of designing your own automation solutions on the basis of open systems. In addition to hardware and software products from KEB, the concept can be easily expanded – through the user‘s own expertise or the integration of third-party providers. This means that basic elements can be simply supplemented with knowledge from specialised companies.

The core infrastructure on the edge component (NOA Core) is based on a Linux and container-based architecture and can be used on embedded hardware, IPCs and panels from KEB or 3rd party devices. The App Manager is used to operate NOA apps such as solutions for HMIs, machine learning (anomaly detection and predictive maintenance), monitoring and control systems as well as customised or 3rd party apps. Apps and devices can be managed across locations in the optional cloud component (NOA Portal). NOA is also customisable as a white label version for OEMs and end customers to enable business models such as “automation platform-as-a-service”.

Drive controller with matched filter technology

COMBIVERT F6 drive controllers as high-speed drives: The devices are available in four housing sizes and have an output power of 30 kW to 450 kW. Realize your high-speed application and benefit from high output frequencies of up to 2,000 Hz. The drives are available as liquid- and air-cooled versions and equipped with a special 3C3 coating for use in harsh environmental conditions. Effortlessly implement high speeds in your application - from small machining spindles to turbo compressors.

High-performance permanent magnet break

The COMBIPERM P2 is a very compact and powerful permanent magnet brake with a frictionally engaged, backlash-free effect. In comparison with the COMBIPERM P1, the brake has a shorter assembly space and requires less power for increased performance. In addition, due to its structure, it can also be used in temperatures as low as -40°C. In the energised state, the magnetic field of the permanent magnet is cancelled and the connected component can rotate without residual torque. In the event of an emergency stop or if the power is switched off, the safety brake engages, brakes and holds the drive safely in position. Thanks to the short switching times and the compact design, these brakes are ideal for servo motors and the medical industry. The high-performance brake has a torque range of 0.8 Nm to 60 Nm.

Open and cost-efficient

For the automation of applications with low to medium complexity it is the right choice: The C6 COMPACT 3. Its concept is based on the Linux operating system and offers an open microservice architecture. Its container-based technology allows various software functions to be integrated and organized. The system is future-proof thanks to the use of the latest multicore technology and real-time capable motion control – programmable via IEC 61131.

The C6 COMPACT 3 can be used for various tasks in addition to the actual machine automation. For example, it can act as a gateway between a higher-level control and a programmable control system with KEB Motion functionality. Among other things, an OPC UA server serves as an interface. Furthermore, the control can be used as HMI server device. It realizes the communication with one or more 3rd party systems and enables browsers to provide the contents via an HMI server.
