Motion Inverter VFD

MotionCables s.r.l.

Description

MotionCables has developed a specific cable design for Variable Frequency Drives. Motion Inverter VFD cables are used to control the frequency of the electrical power supplied to AC motors. Our VFD cables are designed to provide complete EMI screening and resistance to high voltage spikes so as to extend the operating life of the cable or motor.

Symmetrical design, double screening, and cross-linked insulation material that offers operating temperatures up to 90° are some of the advantages that our product can provide. High flexibility, flame, oils resistance and a not-hygroscopic behaviour are further enhancements.

The cross-linked insulation provides the main advantages:

  • Operating temperatures up to 90°C
  • Lower cable's cross-section compared to a standard PVC insulation (i.e.: you can use a 35 mm2 section instead of a 50 mm2. Which means a huge saving in space, weight and costs).

DRIVEConn MT - HYBRID SERVO CABLES

In the machine tools market, the OCT (One Cable Technology) solutions are becoming increasingly common.

The single-cable solution ensures that, instead of using the traditional servo cable for power supply and a separate sensor cable for position information, the transmission and signal are integrated into a single cable. The precondition for using a single-cable solution between the servomotor and the controller is the use of a hardware-based encoder specifically designed for this purpose. Since the encoder is permanently connected to the servomotor, the system shall be made available to the final customer by the manufacturer of the servomotor.

MotionCables began the development of its OCT solutions with SICK®, creating a cable for its HIPERFACE® DSL system that has been approved and qualified by SICK®: now MotionCables is a SICK® certified manufacturer for this cable. Strengthened by this experience, MotionCables has developed a version for the HMC 6® Full Digital system of Heidenhain® based on the EnDat 2.2 protocol, as well as the analogous from B&R® and now for SIEMENS SM120 C and for IndraDyn S from Bosch Rexroth.

Both cables have been tested in our laboratories and in their versions (fixed installation, mobile, high performance) have operated up to ten million cycles. With regard to the HIPERFACE® DSL cable, MotionCables has recently developed a new version with dual Shield, even more powerful for data transmission quality and with a higher rate in noise reduction up to 4,5 kV @ 10 MHz.
