Description

AMM optical kit encoders feature small size, low profile, minimum weight, high resolution, and fine accuracy. They are perfect for direct integration into high performance and space critical applications such as robotics, robot joints, hollow shaft motors (direct drive torque motors, brushless motor kits). They are designed to perfectly fit common motor sizes with shaft diameters ranging between 12 and 50 mm. Their compact, slim, and frameless design is suitable for applications where hardly accessible space and minimum weight are crucial. They are supplied fully calibrated and the assembly process is limited to mechanical mounting. The range of the operating temperature is -40°C to +100°C. AMM encoders provide position feedback via BiSS interface. The resolution is 21 bit singleturn (2,097,152 cpr), accuracy is ±0.010°. An additional incremental track further yields 256 Sine/Cosine 1Vpp signals for speed feedback and interpolation needs. SMA2 absolute linear encoder from Lika Electronic is ideally suited for position and speed feedback applications where small size, fine resolution and great accuracy are mandatory. It is also designed to be rugged under the harshest industrial environments. So it can operate reliably across a broad spectrum of sectors, applications, and conditions such as linear motors, product handling equipment, robotics, packaging lines, woodworking, metalworking and stone-cutting industries, electronic assembly systems, sawing machines, paper-making machines, textile machinery, printing and measuring machinery, electro-medical instruments, machine tools, plastics industry. By virtue of the non-contact operation, SMA2 is virtually wear and maintenance-free. SMA2 provides high resolution down to 1 µm and high accuracy of ±2 µm/m. It further enables high speed operation up to 7 m/s (22.97 ft per sec.) over a max. measuring length of 8.1 m (26.57 ft). It is paired with the MTA2 10 mm / 0.39” wide magnetic tape. The scale is magnetized with two tracks, so the encoder is able to deliver both the absolute information for position feedback through BiSS-C and SSI interfaces and the incremental information for speed feedback through the NPN o.c. output circuit. The readhead is extremely compact and slim, yet robust and insensitive. Electronics is fully encapsulated and optimally protected against dust, grease, oil, liquids, contaminants as well as shocks and vibrations (IP67 protection rate). The large permissible tolerances ease installation and enable minimum mounting time. SMA2 is equipped with a high-flex cable especially suited for use in cable drag chains. It can feature flying leads or an integral M12 connector at the end.

Lika Electronic offers a comprehensive range of absolute rotary encoders with Ethernet interface, it includes Profinet, Ethernet/IP, EtherCAT, POWERLINK, and Modbus TCP. They are designed in a wide variety of mechanical and electrical options. They can provide high resolution optical sensing technology and robust magnetic sensing technology, singleturn and multiturn configurations, solid and blind hollow shafts, axial and radial connectors, standard industrial to ATEX design. Flanges can have a diameter of 58 mm (2.283”) and 77 mm (3.031”).
They are available in five series:
  • EM58 series: low cost 27-bit multiturn encoders equipped with robust magnetic sensing technology for standard industrial applications;
  • HS58 series: 18-bit singleturn optical encoders for the finest accuracy demands;
  • HM58 series: 30-bit high-resolution multiturn encoders, with optical sensing technology, designed for high-end applications;
  • XAC81 series: ATEX certified category 3 singleturn and multiturn encoders for Zones 2, and 22 and temperature class T5.
  • XAC77 series: ATEX certified category 2 singleturn and multiturn encoders for Zones 1, 2, 21, and 22 and temperature class T6.

Ethernet encoders integrate the complete set of configuration parameters (position and velocity readout, scaling, preset, code sequence, …) and provide advanced diagnostic functions, even via integrated web server. Both the hardware and the software fully comply with the specifications of each protocol and profile. M12 connectors are available in both radial and axial configurations to meet different installation requirements.
