SAURO SRL

About us

SAURO (System AUtomation RObotics), founded in 1984 in Padua, Italy, is internationally recognized for the design and automated production of high-quality terminal blocks and connectors for printed circuit boards.
The ability to design and build not only the products, but also the entire production technology, such as assembly lines and equipment, has supported and made successful a quality and customer-oriented strategy. Production is located exclusively at the Italian headquarters, while distribution takes place in the main world markets, with sales offices and warehouses for on-site service and support.
Since its foundation, SAURO has never used substances declared or suspected to be carcinogenic, toxic or dangerous to human health and the environment. Terminal blocks and connectors have complied with RoHS and REACH requirements from the very beginning. It was also among the first companies in Italy to obtain management system certification in the three areas: Quality (ISO 9001), Occupational Health and Safety (ISO 45001) and Environment (ISO14001). These certifications are a confirmation of the great work done every day to advance the company's great fundamentals, which are high quality without compromise both in the choice of raw materials and in production, and the utmost respect for the health and safety of people and the environment.
The company has also always adopted responsible and sustainable corporate behaviour, such as the efficient use of energy, raw materials and the recycling of scraps.
SAURO is known worldwide for the reliability of its products. The assembly of the products, which takes place fully automatically, ends with a functional test that verifies every single contact for each product, guaranteeing the absence of any functional defect.
Products are certified according to the most prestigious international approvals such as UL, CSA, VDE and IMQ. Plastic materials used are all classified V0 according to UL94, belong to group I with CTI >=600V and comply with Glow-Wire Flammability (GWFI) at 960°C and Glow-Wire Ignition (GWIT) at 775°C. Metal components are made from bars, strips and wires of special copper alloys and stainless steel, which are sourced from suppliers that meet the company's high-quality standards and are conflict-free minerals.
Products can be divided into 3 categories according to the cross-section of wire that can be connected and the current they can carry:
LOW POWER: wire cross-section up to 1.5 mm²; rated current up to 17.5 A
MEDIUM POWER: wire cross-section up to 2.5 mm²; nominal current up to 24 A
HIGH POWER: wire cross-section up to 35 mm²; rated current up to 135A
As far as wire clamping technology is concerned, products can be of the screw or push-in type, depending on customer requirements.
In addition to a wide range of products ideal for wave soldering (standard products), there is a wide range of through-hole (STH) and SMD products suitable for reflow soldering. These products are intended to be packaged in tapes on reels or cell trays for automatic placement on PCBs. STH and SMD connectors and terminal blocks, unlike standard connectors and terminal blocks, offer a reduction in the number of process steps with fast and error-free assembly on PCBs, resulting in cost-optimized production.
Innovative solutions and a customer orientation through customized solutions, such as plastic-body-integrated polarization, pad-printing, kit packaging, etc. satisfy even the most demanding customers and large global groups.
