Description

The new Motor Drive System IE5/IE6 Performance in sync with energy efficiency and cost-effectiveness

The first synchronous motor that is as easy to use as an ​asynchronous motor. The permanent magnet inside is intelligently designed to​ achieve high levels of efficiency and falls into the top energy efficiency classes IE5 and IE6. The drive system consisting of the m550 motor, g500 gearboxes and the current i550 and i650 generation of frequency drives performs remarkably also in dynamic applications.
The new Motor Drive System addresses current and future challenges in a wide range of industrial applications:​ ​

Sensorless with Lenze's variable frequency drives The motor design was tailored to the innovative i500-series frequency drive software. It uses the new SLSM algorithm (Sensorless Synchronous Motor). The exact rotor position is detected in the interaction between the motor and drive, which enables sensorless operation – without an expensive motor feedback system. Competitive advantage: Profitability Our new synchronous motors in IE5/IE6 are as easy to operate as an asynchronous motor and require less additional hardware. No wiring of an encoder is necessary. This reduces the installation effort and complexity right from the start. The high overload torque of 300% allows precise dimensioning and thus avoids expensive oversizing.​ Save energy,act sustainably Instead of just complying with the current specifications, we have gone one step further and developed synchronous motors in energy efficiency classes IE5 and IE6. This allows us to reduce motor losses by up to 60%. We achieve high energy efficiency even at partial load. In the long term, this further conserves resource and optimizes the CO2 footprint.​ ​ Efficiency synchronized with industry knowledge ​ This function impresses machine operators in numerous applications: an overload torque of 300%. The permanent magnet synchronous motor accelerates from standstill to full load and gets bottle conveyors or box conveyors moving again without delay.​ Proven energy recovery​ The regenerative unit of the decentralized drive pays off in several ways. It enables braking energy to be fed back, thus saving energy costs, emissions and wiring work. ​ The control cabinet drives can also feed back energy via the DC network. ​ A powerful modular kit At the heart of the drive system is the new permanent magnet synchronous motor with a power range from ​0.25 to 11 kW. Gearboxes are available as helical, angular or bevel gearboxes. The i500 frequency drives in the cabinet, protec or motec versions and now the new i650 motec complete the portfolio.​

Cyber Resilience Act (CRA)

From December 2027, machine builders and suppliers will only be allowed to sell components and machines with digital elements that meet the cyber security requirements of the CRA. Lenze is also committed to these requirements.

Network & Information Security Directive 2 (NIS-2)

From fall 2024, the contents of the NIS-2 directive will apply to machine operators and builders in the EU. This includes far-reaching cyber security obligations such as backup management, disaster recovery and established crisis management.
