And because thermal imaging technology doesn't depend on what’s visible to the human eye, these cameras aren’t sensitive to challenging light conditions such as total darkness, shadows, and glaring light. This also means that it’s possible to see through smoke and light fog. Additionally, they don’t create images that allow individuals to be identified, so they can be used for surveillance without compromising personal integrity.

Built on ARTPEC 8, AXIS F Modular Cameras Series offers great performance, powerful analytics, and high image quality. And with sensor options that support up to 4K, the image quality is highest it´s even been for modular cameras. With a deep learning processing unit (DLPU), the AI-powered main unit lets you run advanced features and powerful analytics at the edge. This DLPU, combined with AXIS Object Analytics makes it possible to gather valuable metadata for efficient forensic capabilities in both live and recorded video. With AXIS Sensor Metrics Dashboard preinstalled, you can gather information from connected devices and sensors, including the integrated accelerometer, and GPS devices.

AXIS F Series is designed for indoor, outdoor, and onboard surveillance. The series includes two rugged main units that can withstand more challenging placements, such as in high-vibration environments like onboard vehicles or in manufacturing machines. Two UL-recognized barebone main units come without a casing – ideal for integration in ATMs, self-checkouts, or ticketing machines. And with a choice of ten sensor units with different functionalities, capabilities, and cable lengths up to 30m (98ft), this system can be tailored to meet your specific needs.

Not only does AXIS F Series offer lower acquisition costs, it also delivers better total cost of ownership with minimum licensing fees. For instance, the 4-channel main unit often requires only one video management software (VMS) license instead of four. It’s also more cost-efficient to install a 4-channel main unit with four sensor units and system components compared to the cost of installing four comparable standard network cameras. Plus, these cameras lower the cost of network switches as the number of ports required can be reduced.
