IMOS offers a wide range of very different lens optics. The designers and physicists at IMOS will be glad to help you to achieve success even with the planning of your individual lens optics. Thanks to their extreme precision, IMOS lenses can be used in a variety of ways, from which a wide variety of areas of application can benefit – one example being in the German Aerospace Centre (DLR – Deutsche Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt). Such high-performance precision optics from IMOS are installed in the hyperspectral earth observation instrument, DESIS, on the international space station ISS. IMOS lens optics are available in a variety of designs and with different surfaces. Our range of lenses includes double lenses, spherical and aspherical lenses, as well as LED and radar lenses. Our IMOS physicists will be happy to develop your individual lens – perfectly tailored to your application. For your success, we carry out feasibility studies and produce prototypes. Of course it goes without saying that we also produce your individual lenses in series.

Since lenses primarily process the curvature of the interface in relation to the surrounding medium, in Fresnel lenses, the lens body is divided into ring segments, and any volume material that does not contribute to actual curvature is removed. The thickness of the lens is thus reduced, significantly diminishing volume and overall height, as well as weight, in proportion to the original complete lens. IMOS designs and computes Fresnel lenses in accordance with your specifications.


IMOS can develop and propose various solutions for your Fresnel project because the IMOS physicists have access to modern mathematical calculation processes and simulation options. And naturally, the many years of experience of our plastic molders are also leveraged as early on as during the development process. This is how your desired optics are optimized even during planning and right through to the precision injection molding stage, and can fulfil stringent quality and economic feasibility requirements.

In order that the finest laser beam can be guided optimally, the triple of a reflector must be all the smaller. That is why IMOS has developed a series that is unique worldwide, and that represents a completely new advance in polarization sensor technology: IMOS Lasercubes. These extraordinary optics enable highly precise scanning with the finest laser beams. Each triple has exactly the same reflection power. For this purpose, IMOS has developed the smallest micro-mirrors with a size of 0.4 to 0.05 mm. Thousands of these form an array, which sends the light back to the light source directly and homogenously. Even with the smallest laser beam, there are a large number of Lasercube triples in the beam’s diameter. A constant signal is returned; unintentional operations are minimized. The safety of running the process increases considerably.


The structure of the new IMOS Lasercube reflectors delivers a polarisation-rotated signal in any desired position, and thus enables the reliable detection of transparent media, such as glass bottles or vapours. Round reflector models can also be used without any issues. A high precision scan is made possible without interference.

IMOS designs and manufactures complete optical modular components in-house. Complex micro optics are matched perfectly with holders and housings, and stable modular components are joined together.

Through IMOS’s use of the most modern measuring techniques, the customer ultimately receives reliable optical systems with a short lead time and risk minimization.

The advantage accruing to our customers: Carrying out optics design, lens manufacturing, and micro assembly under one roof makes it possible to minimize manufacturing tolerances.
