IE4 Motors / IE5 Motors of Series MPM

The advanced motor concept of series MPM allows higher speed and torque in combination with a smaller motor design and lower losses. Even today the challenges of the future as efficiency class IE5 ultra premium efficiency are achieved. The synchronous motor technology in a classic standard motor housing fulfills the economic requirements and making it ideal for speed controlled operations or applications with high duty cycles and/or high partial loads. The series MPM reduces the number of types, cuts down weight and saves energy.

IE5 Reluctance Motors

At this motor design no rare earth magnets are used in or on the rotor. The torque is generated by the reluctance force (magnetic resistance). Compared to asynchronous motors the IE5 reluctance motors offer high efficiency IE5 Ultra Premium at nominal load and especially at partial load. In principle the IE5 reluctance motor combines the physical principle of the asynchronous motor with that of the synchronous motor. These can replace the asynchronous motor in applications with variable speed and pay off when operation is associated with high energy costs. This is the case with pumps and fans for example which often operate continuously.
