RevPi Connect 5

Trade fair innovation

Description

The RevPi Connect 5 is based on the innovative Raspberry Pi Compute Module 5 and utilizes the proven combination of ARM Cortex-A76 processor along with the versatile Broadcom BCM2712 system-on-chip. This architecture ensures both energy-efficient data processing and a wide range of peripheral connectivity options – ideal for deployment in industrial automation technology with proven Raspberry Pi foundation.

With its quad-core processor, the system reaches clock frequencies of up to 2.4 GHz, significantly surpassing the performance capabilities of the previous Compute Module 4.

For comprehensive networking capabilities, the RevPi Connect 5 can be configured with different communication protocols: The spectrum ranges from wireless WLAN connections through robust RS485 interfaces to high-performance CAN FD bus.

Thanks to its modular design, the RevPi Connect 5 offers flexible expansion options through RevPi I/O modules for additional inputs and outputs as well as RevPi Gateway components for integrating additional fieldbus systems. The system supports the connection of up to ten expansion modules, with a maximum of two gateway modules that can be used simultaneously.

Revolution Pi - Industrial modular IPC based on Raspberry Pi

Revolution Pi is an open, modular, and cost-effective industrial PC based on the well-known Raspberry Pi. Housed in a narrow DIN rail enclosure, the base modules can be seamlessly expanded with a variety of matching I/O modules and fieldbus gateways. The 24V-powered modules are connected to each other in seconds via a top-mounted connector and can be easily configured using a graphical configuration tool.

To achieve true industrial suitability in accordance with EN 61131-2 or IEC 61131-2, the rather unknown Raspberry Pi Compute Module was used as the foundation. The Raspberry Pi Compute Module is stripped down to the essentials and has no external interfaces by default. Using the Raspberry Pi Compute Module created the prerequisite for equipping the Raspberry Pi with robust and industrially suitable peripherals that we developed, meeting all important industrial standards. On the software side, the Revolution Pi features a specially adapted Raspbian operating system, which includes a real-time patch among other features. By using Raspbian, it is ensured that a large portion of applications developed for the Raspberry Pi can also be used on the Revolution Pi.

The Revolution Pi has been continuously developed and enhanced by KUNBUS since 2016. As a German company, KUNBUS places special emphasis on quality and reliability – all Revolution Pi products are manufactured exclusively in Germany. This local production not only ensures the highest quality standards, but also provides short delivery routes and close collaboration with customers and partners in product development.
