iC-GI22 Dual Channel Inductive Signal Demodulator
The iC-Gi22 dual-channel inductive sensor IC with sin/cos and interpolated SSI data output is used for magnetic off-axis position sensing using a simple metal target. The device enables absolute angle detection over the entire mechanical revolution by sampling two separate channels (master plus slave). The demodulated receiver signals feed the external processor, i.e. a suitable nterpolation device such as the iC-MNF, iC-TW29, iC-NQE, and an MCU with ADCs, to determine the position with higher resolution.
Features:
- Adjustable transmitter with coil driver (2-5 MHz, up to 20 mA)
- Two independent receiver channels with demodulation and line driver (1 Vdiff @ 100 Ω)
- High level output with selectable center voltage
- Adjustable coarse (x1...10) and fine gain (x1...20)
- Precision offset correction (via 11 bits up to 200 mV)
- Automatic gain control (per channel)
- Sin/cos interpolation with 8-bit resolution (1 channel)
- Angle output via SSI with error and warning
- I2C multi-master for self-configuration from external EEPROM
- I2C slave interface to the system (MCU)
- Operation monitoring with alarm masking: signal loss, I/O short circuit, RAM CRC
- Signal frequency up to 50 kHz (allows for 90000 rpm minimum)
- Power supply from 3.3 V to 5 V, approx. 15 mA
- Space-saving 32-pin QFN with 5x5 mm

- Space-saving, 28-pin 5mm x 5mm QFN package

iC-PZ Series High-Resolution Reflective Absolute Encoder
The iC-PZ is a complete lensless optical reflective absolute encoder IC. With its integrated blue LED and interpolator, the iC-PZ provides
a high-resolution single-chip absolute linear or rotary encoder solution. Independently configurable BiSS/SSI, ABZ, UVW, SPI, and analog Sin/Cos outputs may be used singly or in combination to provide a highly flexible system. FlexCount® and FlexCode® allow arbitrary ABZ resolution and arbitrary code disc diameter.
Automatic calibration corrects for sin/cos signal errors (offset, gain, and phase) and code wheel eccentricity without requiring external hardware or software. Calibrated parameter values are stored in an external EEPROM. Wide assembly tolerances ensure that the iC-PZ is easy to install and align, making design-in to any application simple.
Reflective, compact, high-resolution, absolute encoder iC
• iC-PZ0974 and iC-PZ2656 for reflective code discs up to ø45 mm

iC-PNE Series Octal Nonius Phased Array Encoders
This series of optical encoder iCs features monolithically integrated photosensors. Precision sine/cosine signals are output for a high-resolution interpolation by subsequent devices, such as iC-MNF, resolving a singleturn position with 23 bits and higher. Output amplitudes of several hundred millivolts are achieved at low illumination levels, saving LED current for durability. As a typical Nonius scale for iC-PNE repeats 8 times per turn, 4 sector tracks are scanned digitally by additional photosensors. This section runs independently on a lower supply voltage with extremely low power consumption, allowing battery operation. The typical application of iC-PNE devices are absolute position encoders for motion control and drive applications.
Features:
- For compact, high resolution absolute position encoders
- Monolithic 3-channel HD phased array with excellent signal matching
- Embedded octal sector detection by 4-bit Gray code scanning
- Moderate track pitch for reduced crosstalk
- Ultra-low dark currents for operation at high temperatures
- Low-noise photocurrent amplifiers with 1 MΩ transimpedance gain
- Enhanced EMI tolerance by low impedance differential, short-circuit-proof, analog sine/cosine outputs
- Operation from 4.1 V up, respectively 1.8 V for digital section
- Operational temperature range of -40 to +125 °C
- Space-saving, RoHS compliant optoQFN package
