The current version of the Ecodesign Regulation has regulated energy-consuming products since 2009. Electric motors and drives are covered in the current version under regulation EU/2019/1781. The focus today is on providing product information and regulating the minimum efficiency of products. This is the playing field that is well known to industry and consumers
