It’s not about the machine. It’s about productivity.

Machine builders are justifiably proud of their machines. Of their technical sophistication, quality and precision. For a machine operator, however, this is a secondary consideration, at best a means to an end. For them, there is only one KPI: productivity. If there were a way to make the production process more cost-effective while maintaining the same quality, the manufacturer would change suppliers. This is nothing less than a tectonic shift from selling the best machine to selling the highest productivity. And this is only possible with know-how and the right link between OT and IT.
