Single Pair Ethernet (SPE) provides the necessary infrastructure for the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). With SPE, Ethernet can communicate from the cloud to the field level in a space- and cost-efficient way for the first time. With IIoT, the industry is placing ever tougher demands on network technology. The need for a more cost-efficient and simple infrastructure at the field level has grown significantly.
