In complex machine designs, simultaneous adjustment of machine axes is required when changing product formats. With intelligent positioning systems, automatic format adjustment is implemented precisely, quickly and without interference. For the simultaneous control of several positioning systems, an active bus component can be used that centrally controls the power transmission. With the PSxHub from halstrup-walcher, an innovative solution is coming onto the market, whose cluster-capable synchronisation monitoring via IO-Link is just one of the novel functions. The presentation will provide an overview of challenges, possible solutions and potential savings in the control of positioning systems for format adjustment with a smart hub.
